Comunidades Unidas’ Statement on the Supreme Court Decision on the Travel Ban

“Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court is extremely disappointing and a direct attack on our values as a state” said Luis Garza, Executive Director of Comunidades Unidas.  This decision will only further divide our communities and enact policies that fuel hate and instill fear in people who look and pray differently.

Utah pioneers fled religious persecution and fought for religious liberty.  It is our responsibility to stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters.

We will continue to advocate for justice and equality in our state and ensure that the American dream is available to everyone regardless of where they come from or what religion they practice.
